What To Expect

Join us for an evening of education and discussion regarding the Shell plant and how it is effecting the local community. Beaver County Marcellus Awareness Community (BCMAC) will be here to share what they do and why their work is important.

Pittsburgh artist, Korey Edmonson, has collaborated with BCMAC on a mural design that highlights the dangers of the Shell plant and the community's call to action. Korey will speak about the collaboration and what inspired him to work on this project with us.

Mountain Watershed Association (MWA) and Three Rivers Waterkeeper (3RWK) will be teaching us about nurdles and the impacts of microplastics.

There will be light refreshments from Sprezzatura and beer from East End Brewery. All donations will be received by BCMAC.

Get to Know Our Event Speakers

Korey Edmondson

Korey is full-time artist from Pittsburgh, PA who specializes in imaginative, portrait and figurative work. He is passionate about telling the untold stories in black culture. He tells stories by exploring with colors, composition and brush strokes.

We met Korey when he was painting his first mural which was for YETI x Public Lands grand opening in Cranberry Township. The mural is located in the Public Lands store.

In 2021, Korey was accepted as an Emerging Artist at the Three Rivers Art Festival. You can now find Korey teaching on Skillshare and creating content for Instagram and TikTok.

Beaver County Marcellus Awareness Community

The Beaver County Marcellus Awareness Community seeks to protect the residents of Southwestern Pennsylvania, with emphasis on those in Beaver County, by informing them about the health, safety, environmental and economic impacts of fracking infrastructure, including the petrochemical buildout; and by supporting sustainable alternatives to carbon-based energy sources and economic development strategies in Beaver County.

Mountain Watershed Association

The Mountain Watershed Association, home of the Youghiogheny Riverkeeper, is a small, community-based, non-profit organization concerned with the protection, preservation, and restoration of the Indian Creek and greater Youghiogheny River watersheds.

MWA has been in existence since 1994, and currently has over 2,000 members and supporters. In 2003, we partnered with the Waterkeeper Alliance to become home of the Youghiogheny Riverkeeper.

Three Rivers Waterkeeper

Three Rivers Waterkeeper (3RWK) was founded in 2009 and aims to improve and protect the water quality of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers. These waterways are critical to the health, vitality, and economic prosperity of our region and communities.

We are both a scientific and legal advocate for the community, working to ensure our three rivers are protected and safe to drink, fish, swim and enjoy.
